The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design and Production curriculum is designed for the talented artist who wishes to prepare for a professional career in theatre design and production. The curriculum provides a balance of academic theatre studies with practical production experience as well as a strong base of liberal arts studies, which will enable students to think and perform creatively, and communicate effectively both as theatre professionals and as members of a global society.
Program Outcomes
Students completing the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design and Production will be able to:
- design, develop and complete collaborative projects appropriate to their discipline and career goals;
- demonstrate an ability to analyze dramatic literature and its performance/production in cultural and historical contexts; and
- conceive and execute design and production work on fully produced theatrical productions.

Course and Credit Requirements
Degree Total: 122.5 credits
*Minimum grade of “C” required.
+ Theatre Design and Production Elective – Select one from: THDP 321 Special Topics in Production, THDP 331 Special Topics in Costuming, THDP 351 CAD for the Stage , THDP 360 Theatre Sound , THDP 410 Production Management, THDP 460 Sound Design and Effects, THDP 490 Production Collaboration, and THDP 491 Theatre Design and Production Internship.
