SLP 400 Introduction to Communication Disorders



This course provides an overview of communication disorders (CD) including speech, language, cognition and hearing along with their effects on patients, families and caregivers. The classifications, descriptions and pathologies of these disorders, as well as their evaluation and treatments, will be discussed.  In addition, the speech-language pathologist’s role and professional responsibilities and requirements to enter the profession are explored.
