Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology

The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology is designed to prepare graduates for certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), license by the Board of Audiology and Speech Pathology of Virginia and to work as Speech-language Pathologists in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, long-term health care facilities, and private practice.
Admission Requirements:
- A recommended Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders OR a Bachelor’s of Science with the following prerequisites:
- Biological Science
- Physical Science
- Social/Behavioral Science
- Statistics
- Introduction to Communication Disorders
- Anatomy and Physiology of the Speech and Hearing Mechanism
- Phonetics
- Normal Speech and Language Development
- Introduction to Audiology
- Speech Science
- Observation in Communication Disorders*Obtain a minimum of 25 hours of guided clinical observation under a certified and licensed speech-language pathologist(s) (Part of course requirements)
