The Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) Post Graduate Certificate program is designed to provide the Master’s level trained nurse with the necessary knowledge, skills, values, meanings and experiences to assume the role of an AGPCNP in a variety of clinical settings. The program consists of didactic and clinical course content essential to provide care to young adults, adults, and older adults. Preparation of the graduate includes specialized education in the adult-geriatric population. The focus of the AGPCNP is to provide patient-centered, quality care to the adult and older adult population. The AGNP applies evidence in practice designed to improve quality of care and health outcomes. The ACPCNP prepares the graduate to sit for national certification examinations as a AGPCNP.
(Notation: If a student currently is nationally certified nurse practitioner in another clinical specialty, some courses may potentially be waived. See program director for individualized advising).
