The Criminology and Criminal Justice major provides a broad understanding of the nature of crime and the operation of the criminal justice system in the United States by way of diverse course offerings addressing contemporary issues in this field. Both theoretical and applied approaches are used to prepare students for contemporary academic and professional opportunities. Students majoring in
Criminology and Criminal Justice will be prepared to work in entry-level positions in law enforcement, courts or corrections agencies at the local, state or federal levels or to continue their studies at the graduate level. The major equips student with the social science tools requisite to achieve personal and professional goals, have flexible minds with the curiosity for lifelong personal growth and be engaged members of society.
