AVS 321 Wildlife Medicine and Rehabilitation



This course will focus on the principles and practices involved in 1) the medical care and treatment of injured, orphaned, and diseased wildlife, 2) the application of medicine and rehabilitation in species conservation practice, 3) animal ecology and its relevance for treatment and care, and 4) one health concepts. You will learn about the common injuries and diseases affecting wildlife species, as well as the techniques and methods used in their medical treatment and rehabilitation. The course will also cover ethical considerations, legal regulations, and conservation aspects related to wildlife rehabilitation. Credit(s): 3
