HP 122 Introduction to the Health Humanities



This course provides an introductory exploration of how cultural values related to health shape experiences of being unwell, health care practices and how society understands the purpose of medicine. The course gives critical attention to fictional literature, film, and patient and professional memoirs, placing them in conversation with ethical reflection and social scientific analysis related to the experience of illness or injury and the delivery of health care.  Credit(s): 3
