PSCI 103 Foundational Ideas of Political Society
This course entails an analysis of the evolutionary patterns of competing ideologies and how these ideologies have, and will, affect our world. The main subject of analysis is political philosophy, not history. Therefore, our foundational unit of analysis is the philosophical ideas of Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, Marx, Mussolini and others. Our goal is to see how these ideas have and will shape our world and the political societies that we live in, and then to critically assess their ability to establish the “best” political society.
