RST 784 Qualitative Methods for Doctoral ResearchThis course is designed to provide both a theoretical foundation in qualitative methods in social science research and in-depth training in qualitative data collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation. The course focuses on how to frame research questions and design appropriate research strategies that incorporate qualitative methods. The ethics of conducting this kind of research will be examined in depth. The methods studied will include participant observation, in-depth interviews, historical analysis, focus group and other emerging techniques. Credit(s): 3
