Intensive study, using the International Phonetic Alphabet, of the rules governing correct diction in Latin, Italian, English, German and French. Discussion of linguistic subtleties and detailed points of pronunciation. Coaching on in-class readings of poetic texts and performances, either through singing or recitation, of assigned repertoire.
