PGPM 606 Therapeutic AntibodiesThis course will offer a deeper exploration of
using antibodies as therapeutic agents. Topics
include mechanisms by which the immune system
produces antibodies and the adaptation of this
process for the development of monoclonal
antibodies; disease states for which these drugs
are currently used; problems that arise with
formulation and administration based on their
unique characteristics; and industrial
development of antibodies using genetic
engineering and large-scale growth of mammalian
cells. This course is available only to
second-year MS in Pharmacogenomics and
Personalized Medicine
