N 770 Complex Pharmacotherapy

The intent of this course is to assist DNP students in developing advanced knowledge, skills, values, meanings and experiences in prescribing and monitoring multiple pharmacological agents safely and appropriately in vulnerable populations with complex disease states. Emphasis will be on the role of potentiation, synergy, antagonism and pharmacokinetics in complex, multi-drug therapy. In addition, pharmacogenomics theory will be explored as a basis for drug selection. Analysis of simulated and actual case studies will be used to enhance experiential learning. Credit(s): 1
