The 14-credit Post Graduate Certificate in Health Systems Leadership is designed to provide the health professional with essential knowledge and experiences to expand his/her role in leadership in healthcare settings. Four didactic courses and one practicum course focus on role development for professionals working in high-performance organizations. Emphasis includes assessing, developing and measuring quality indicators in healthcare settings; health systems leadership; negotiations and mediation; human resources, legal and ethical considerations; and planning for population management. A practicum includes 120 hours during one semester of supervised experiences provided in a variety of healthcare settings appropriate for the health professional.
This certificate program may be individualized to the student and is designed to be two or three semesters in length. Two schedule options are presented; course offering and sequence may vary slightly depending on course enrollment.
