The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting curriculum is designed for the talented actor who wishes to prepare for a professional acting career in the theatre and its related entertainment industries. The curriculum provides a rigorous course of performance studies with significant opportunities for practical experience, which will enable students to perform creatively, think metacognitively and operate effectively both as theatre/entertainment industry professionals and as members of a diverse society.
Students completing the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting will be able to:
- design, develop and complete collaborative projects appropriate to their discipline and career goals.
- analyze dramatic literature, its performance and its production in cultural and historical context.
- act with imagination, a sense of truth, full emotional range and crafted specificity.
- speak with a powerful clean voice capable of conveying text, character, emotion and dialect across the stage and digital mediums.
- move with kinesthetic awareness, flexibility, sustained alignment and grounded strength while using physical actions, styles and techniques appropriate to the text and performance platform/venue.
- communicate effectively in oral and written formats using the vocabulary of the acting industry.

Requirements for the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting Degree
Degree Total: 120.5 credits
*Minimum grade of “C” required. #Students in the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting curriculum are required to audition for all non-musical productions (and may audition for musical productions), and must accept the role(s) in which they are cast. A minimum of two successful completions are required. |
