The university believes that every faculty and staff person should pursue a planned program of professional development and should have access to funding to pursue their
professional goals. The university, therefore, will offer leaves of absence with or without compensation, reduced loads, sabbaticals, and professional development grants for
specialized study, training, research, and related activities.
