THDP 403 Project Management and Theatre Safety
This course gives students the practical skills needed to plan, organize and run theatre projects with confidence and care. The course covers the full project lifecycle—goal setting, scheduling, budgeting, workflow design, documentation and communication—while grounding every step in best safety practices for rehearsal rooms, shops and performance spaces.
Students learn how to assess risks, create safety plans, navigate regulations, manage crews and maintain a culture of safe, smart work. They also examine real production scenarios to practice identifying hazards, solving logistical challenges and keeping projects on track under pressure. Credit(s): 3
