THDP 303 Technical Direction II

In this course, students move into the real decision-making, leadership and problem-solving required in a working scene shop. Building on the skills from Technical Direction I, this course focuses on advanced drafting, construction planning, rigging fundamentals, safety management and technical supervision.

Students take on larger, more complex projects that require them to create full build plans, manage budgets, coordinate with design teams and lead crews through safe and efficient workflows. They learn how to evaluate materials, choose construction methods, troubleshoot unexpected challenges and maintain clear communication across all production departments. Credit(s): 3
