THDP 203 Technical Direction I
This course introduces students to the core responsibilities, tools and thinking that drive the technical side of theatrical production. The course covers how to read and interpret scenic designs, draft basic construction drawings, plan materials and labor, and communicate effectively with shop staff and creative teams. Students learn foundational construction methods, safe shop practices, budgeting basics, scheduling and the workflow of a production from concept to strike. Credit(s): 3
