N 450 Global Healthcare
This course prepares students to utilize nursing knowledge, skills, values and experiences to provide compassionate and holistic nursing care to diverse populations. The course provides students with the opportunity to deliver nursing care and services associated with healthcare as part of a Global Experiential Learning (GEL) program. The focus is on healthcare problems, health education and healthcare delivery systems in a selected region. Students will identify healthcare needs or disparities and discuss approaches to meeting health needs for the selected population. Students will become familiar with agencies working to promote healthcare and policies, economics, social determinants of health and cultural contexts that impact or influence healthcare in a specific population.
