In “Narratives for Social Change,” students will harness storytelling to advocate for social justice and inspire societal transformation. This course integrates narrative theory with practical applications, examining historical and contemporary examples that have driven activism and cultural shifts. Through lectures, case studies and hands-on projects, students will explore diverse storytelling mediums and tailor narratives for various audiences and platforms. Key themes include the role of narrative in social movements, ethical storytelling, media activism and digital tools for social impact. By the end of the course, students will develop impactful stories, engage with community partners and build a portfolio demonstrating their ability to craft strategic narratives for social change, equipping them to become influential storytellers and changemakers in a more equitable society.
