SNC 501 Foundations of Media Narratives

This course delves into the principles and practices of media narratives, teaching students how to analyze and craft compelling stories across various platforms. Topics include narrative structures, media-specific storytelling techniques and audience engagement strategies. Students will explore narrative theory, historical contexts and contemporary practices, examining the impact of technological advancements and ethical considerations in storytelling. Students will learn to create impactful narratives that resonate with diverse audiences through lectures, case studies and hands-on projects. By the end of the course, they will be equipped to strategically employ narrative elements to craft stories that engage and influence their intended audiences, laying a strong foundation for advanced study in strategic narrative communication.
