SE 308 Sustainable Development
This course will explore the nexus of community development and sustainable economic development in Belize using the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework to enhance well-being for all by providing a sustainable future for the planet. In this off-site intensive course, students will learn about the key aspects of the Belizean economy and the challenges that development creates at the macroeconomic level and at the community level while striving to meet the SDGs. Emphasis is placed on how agriculture, environmental resources and climate change impact the economy, community and the Belizean rainforest. Students will gain hands-on, real-world problem-solving experience within the local Belizean communities. Credit(s): 3
