POLICY 8.1 - Public Appearances Shenandoah University encourages faculty and staff to participate in public meetings and ceremonies in areas of competence. When acting as an official representative of the institution, the individual shall adhere to university policy.
When speaking as an individual, faculty members shall make it clear that they are not speaking as representatives of the school, but as individuals.
An individual representing Shenandoah in an official capacity when appointed by the president shall file a written report promptly with the president or designated official for each function attended.
The president shall send, at their discretion, representatives to such public and academic functions as inaugurations, dedications, ceremonies, etc.
