POLICY 4.15.3 - Human Subjects Policy Shenandoah University’s policy requires review and approval of all activities which involve using human subjects in research. The Institutional Review Board (IRB) serves as the university’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) which is responsible to the provost. Approval of the IRB must be obtained prior to involvement of human subjects. Failure to have human subjects research reviewed by the IRB, including those protocols believed to be exempt, is a violation of university policy and will be reported to the provost for disciplinary action.
All forms and instructions needed to submit a proposal for review are available from the IRB Compliance Coordinator. Questions should be directed to the Office of the Provost.
