POLICY 4.13.2.4 - Sabbaticals
For the purposes of professional development, members of the university faculty are eligible to apply for sabbatical leave after six years of full-time appointment (for leave to be taken after completion of the 7th year). A sabbatical shall be defined as:
-
a one-semester leave of absence,
-
a two-semester leave of absence, or
-
two-semesters at a 50% reduction in contracted load.
The sabbatical format taken is in the purview of the faculty member, in consultation with their department/program chair and dean. Final approval comes from the Office of the Provost. See also Section 4.13.3 .
