HP 645 Contraception Pharmacology and Counseling

This course is designed to provide health professional students with a basis for understanding the physiology and pathophysiology of reproduction and the mechanisms and pharmacologies of contraceptives. The students will learn the many considerations important for effective contraceptive counseling; these areas include cultural aspects, lifestyle choices, mechanism of action, side effects, efficacy, protection from STDs, risks, cost and non-contraceptive benefits.
