MUPP 544 Alternative Styles for StringsA survey of string styles in non-Western and non-classical music idioms. Critical listening and practical performance are key components of the class. Musical styles to be introduced include, but are not limited to: Bluegrass, Jazz, Rock, Texas fiddle, Celtic fiddle, Rockabilly, Hindustani and others. Individual research resulting in an advanced written or performance project is expected. Credit(s): 1
