LST 740 Governance and Public PolicyThis course examines the politics, legitimization and practices of the American governance and public policymaking processes, with particular attention to public sector institutions. Public sector organizations are by definition institutions of public trust, and require internal governance systems appropriate to their respective roles, as well as to the effective internal management of fiscal, human and material resources. The course examines the relationships among federal, state and local governments, NGOs and public sector institutions, and how these relationships shape governance and policy at many levels.
