N 334 Health Disparities in Rural Settings

This course will aid the student to develop the KSVME to critically analyze the complexity of health disparities in rural settings rooted in multiple levels of historic and contemporary inequities. These levels include health care systems, health policies, distributions of and access to resources and health care professionals. The critical thinking process throughout the course will emphasize ethical considerations. Existing multi-level intervention strategies aimed at eliminating health disparities will be assessed, including those specific to rural settings as well as community-academic partnerships that translate research into action.
