N 449 Healthcare Med-Underserved Populations



This seminar provides students the opportunity to
 study and discuss knowledge, skills,
values, meanings and experiences associated with
 medically underserved populations. Students focus
 on the role of the nurse in providing healthcare
 and health education, and discuss the challenges
 and successes that the US healthcare system has
 faced in providing services to these medically
 underserved populations. A field experience
providing nursing care in a medically underserved
 environment is required. Permission of instructor
 required for enrollment. Prerequisite: N214.
